Of all of the styles we produce this wine is in my mind the old school hero. Inspired by the diverse wines of the Rhone and born of the same lineage that brought these varieties to Terra Australis. Anticipating that you will see in this blend the lightness, depth and poise that I hope will come to be recognized as typical of biodynamic practise. Named in honour of Ken Schliebs’ intractable will to resist the winds of change, we just wouldn’t have the diversity and age of vineyard if he hadn’t. Estate grown does make a difference. Colour: Red purple medium weight. Brown on the rim as an indication of maturity.
Aroma: Plum and Tar with Christmas pudding with a woody spice background.
Palate: Fruit sweetness up front with a light mid palate, finishing long and savoury, silky tannin. Oak frames the palate adding structure.
Summary: Rhone blends are versatile performers in the food matching stakes making them a good choice if you are invited to dinner.
